Medicare Reimbursement Cuts have been Delayed
The Senate passed H.R.3326 -
Department of Defense Appropriations Act, 2010 on December 19, 2009
which temporarily postpones the Medicare pay cut of 21.2% until February
28, 2010. This bill was then forwarded to the president and has been
signed into law. The house and senate will continue their discussion in
early 2010 to try and permanently resolve the Medicare reimbursement
issue.
Medicare has announced that 2010
dates of service will not be processed for payment until January 19,
2010. This delay is necessary so that Medicare can update their system
to reflect the new reimbursement amounts.
